Multicultural Fair 2005

The multicultural fair was today only. I know I didn't mention it before, but that's because I didn't participate this year. Last year I did India with Himali and Pavan. There were two other boards for India. One done by Amish, Arun, and Nemish, the other done by Anchita, Hasita and Kavita. Pavan made samosas last year and we (the Indians working at the fair) ate them all, leaving nothing for the visitors :) Couldn't help, they were soo good!

Anyways, this year Mary-Ann and Sonia worked on the India board. The other board on India was put together by Anchita and Hasita. The fair was the same as last years - okay. Almost the same type of boards, absolutely the same dances (with very few variations) and the same attitude - excited and hyper at first, but as time passed watching the same thing and answering the same questions becomes tiring and a huge burden. Therefore, I enjoyed this year's better. After all I was just a visitor, saying hey talking to people and cursing them out for not having any food left (haha! just kiddin'). The best part of the fair was when I saw Miles playing his Viola. Ghosh! I just started cracking up. I don't know what was so funny about it, but it was pretty damn funny!! I didn't disturb him and went on with the fair. I was at the Trinidad and Tobago booth when he came over and said, "Yeah! don't even say a hi."

So, I went to his "orchestra corner" and checked out the string intruments he had back there. Started arguing with him how his instrument is a Violin and not a Viola. After all it's played the same way! He explained the difference, "You need to be tall and have gorrilla arms to be able to play Viola." This sentence was aimed towards not letting me play the Viola. Then he actually showed me the two instruments and that's when I finally believed him. He did let me try to play it though. I'm telling ya, you really need to have gorrilla arms to play that thing (yup, exaggerating here)! My arms were not long enough (or so I felt). He was trying to put my fingers at the correct places, but again my pinky (smallest) finger wasn't long enough. I moved that stick thing up and down in an effort to make music, but whatever came out of it was something that you won't ever call music. After making me happy as anything, he played the Viola just for me... awww! Miles is GREAT!!

Other than all the fun described above, I had a test in Stats that I did not study for while sleeping at home. Yeah, I got sleepy while trying to read the chapter, slept from from around 8:30pm till 5:54am. Started studying as soon as I got up. Isolated myself from everybody at school to understand this last chapter. I had to go over because I didn't do any of the hw assigned or even read the chapter. Due to the fair not a lot of people came to class. They were either helping at the fair or took an early break (next week is off, it's our spring break). I think I did fine at the test after all. It was not hard at all. Surprizingly, I knew what I was doing.

This six weeks I have all A's and B's, including Physics. It's that amazing? An A in Trig, woohoo! A cursin' B in English, can you believe that? B in Schernekau's?? Hate me, don't you? If you don't then I'm gonna hate you, so you better start hatin' :)

Okay listen, got a haircut today. Had been wanting to get one since forever! Short hair are SO MUCH better to take care of. In India, I had boycutt. After moving to US though, I decided on "becoming" a girl. Change is a part of life I guess. I like long hair too, but :(( you have to care so much! Plus, windy air tangles it up so bad! Anyways, this is how I look now...

Okie dokes (and I like saying "dokes" instead of "dokie") about the Spring Break. Am not doing anything, not going anywhere, don't have any plans, will sit at home all week long and actually study for the AP exams this time. I borrowed Barron's AP Government and AP Physics books from Dees and Lee, respectively. Mom brought Amsco's AP Statistics from her school. All these books are really good. I know I can pass the Gov exam, Stats would take some work, but it's not impossible either. Physics... hahaha... let's not go there, but I'll see where I stand.

Outsourcing Teachers (Satire)

The federal government has finally decided to outsource K-12 public educators. It has become hard to afford skilled instructors due to the federal deficit, which is on the verge of crossing twenty-nine trillion dollars. Most of the money collected in taxes is going towards welfare . The battle for jobs is often won by overseas candidates because of their high reliability and low income demand compared to United States employees. This is resulting in more and more American workers being laid off. Not being able to find a job drives them to the “welfare community”.

“It took us a long time to realize this, but finally it has come to our attention that the American youth is not gaining anything in K-12 public education ,” said the Secretary of Education. “All throughout the nation, the Board of Education of numerous counties hold unnecessary meetings organized for the teachers on working days that result in hurting the students academically,” he added.

John Smith, a High School student from Georgia, stated, “Teachers almost never come to school. Even when they do come to class most of the time is wasted talking about hair do’s and nail salons. Other times the question ‘why are we even doing this?’ is given more importance than the actual course content. ” Smith’s girlfriend, Julie Sparks, exclaimed, “We never get to finish the course of study and the final average is bumped up all the time!”

Making all A’s and having a high average sounds good, but the American population is now understanding that there is no point of a 4.0 GPA when they are being lead to the welfare house due to the lack of skills, knowledge, and potential.

Recently, on the events of Easter and Holi, one of India’s major festivals, President Bush held talks with the Prime Minister of India about hiring over one million teachers. They would have to work during nights due to the time difference. It may seem like a stress to stay up all night long , but the rewards that come along with the job would convince many foreigners to become one with the “night owl” generation.

Special apartment complexes, with 24 hour wireless Internet connection and video conference devices, will be built in all the major and fastest growing cities. Each apartment complex will have a 1-800 number in the main office with a direct line given to all teachers in case students need emergency help. Also, free web space will be provided to post homework and class work. Students may also start a discussion group and/or email the teacher. The web URL will look something like www.offshore.k12.us.in/teachername. The apartment complexes will be considered “American soil.” After the initial five years of service, teachers may apply for U.S. citizenship. “The concern of America not being able to replace the declining population due to hunger and suicides, both being results of unemployment, will soon be solved,” the Secretary of State told reporters.

“We have handed the entire responsibility of teaching to India’s Department of Education,” said Cheney. “Research shows that the Indian education system is very effective. An average Indian with just a Bachelor’s degree is much more intelligent and a lot more effective and efficient in his or her work than the top Americans with a Master’s degree in their hand. ”

In a secret investigation it was discovered that the United States Department of Education will soon be shut down. “Our education department does not do anything, the results are obviously in front of us. The suggestion was given a lot of thought and the decision was made after numerous debates. We are hoping to utilize the money saved here to spend in welfare,” quoted by an anonymous source.

In India the news is already out and has been published in the major newspapers as well. An article in The Hindustan Times claims to have great ideas for “making the American public capable for today’s world.”

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says, “Since we have been handed over the job by our good friend America, we will do it well!” It will be done just like at home. Students will be given an exorbitant amount of compulsory practice work on a daily basis. Failure in completion will not only result in a possible zero on the test but also the deduction of points from the final average.

Keeping America’s future in mind, Bush also suggested a treaty according to which capable American youths will be shipped off to India to be able to work from there since the scope here is too less. In exchange, the same number of Indians will be sent immigration letters. On asking what will be accomplished by this, the President replied, “We do need someone paying us for the jobs, don’t we? ” and finished his statement with the words, “God Bless India!”

After writing my last blog about that 4yr old case, I heard on the news about a guy in Minnesota who took his grandfathers' gun to school after killing both the grandfather and the grandmother and shot 10 people at school, including himself. Don't know what the reason was, but wow... life's really so uncertain.

So, has anything of interest happened lately? Hmm... I don't remember much except that I have a good long term memory (I guess). I was looking at the board and noticed the date 3-21-05. I kept on staring at it, and saying to myself, "that looks familiar. Something is on this day!" Looked at it for a couple more minutes and exclaimed to myself, "It's Rani Mukherji's Birthday!" That was not it though. After a little while, I remembered. It was also Mr. Shook's daughter's b'day. How do I know this? Well, last year he mentioned that his daughter was born on a very interesting date - March 21, 2000. You can also write it as 3-21-00. Notice the numbers? They are in decending order - 3210. Yeah! Saw Shookie later in the day and asked him how the b'day went :) He was surprised!

School has been alright, nothing exciting. In programming, we can't use C++ anymore because the compiler that we use does not have all the needed functions in its library (or something of that sort). So, we are switching to HTML now. Did a bit of that at GHP. Since we are just starting and doing the basic stuff, I know it all. HTML is pretty easy, I should say. It's cool that we can create an entire website out of scratch, that too while only working in the greenroom. It gets boring after sometime though.

About Janki and Nirali... it's the same as before. No questions from their side as to why I left their company and of course no such talk from my side either. I know that they must have talked about it amongst themselves and this shows in the way they now act. Seems like, Janki feels awkward while talking to me (atleast that's what her facial expressions imply) and Nirali, well well, her's is a totally different story. I have two classes with her - Trig and Stats. We see each other? Oh yeah, of course! Do we talk? No! Smile at each other? I do, however, I don't recall her doing so. Hmm... so what's the matter? Who knows, all I can assume (which I should not because I do not know what's going in her head. Plus, I hate when people just assume crap, without hearing the other person's side of the story) is that since I left, without even saying a word, or giving an explanation, they find it rude (I would too). But hey, they didn't see it coming. How long did they think I would take up their crap and just sit there, stare at their Gujju blabering faces, and not do anything. I went along for 7 months, didn't I? Now, If they think talking about soap operas I don't even get at home, or talking about movies that I haven't even heard of is more important than taking care of a "friend" well then... they won't make many friends, now will they? Except of course, if their friends also see the soap operas (throwing away time and getting happy, sad, depressed, cranky, feeling everything for dumb characters in a stupid show! I mean, isn't your life enough of a roller coaster that you want to sit in somebody else's seat?).

Well, back to the happy me :) My birthday's less than a month away (hey, hey, hey!). I'll be eighteen! I can spell that too... wooohooo!!

Life is so uncertain

Today, during second period (English) I got to thinking about something that happened about four years ago.

A 6^th or 7^th grade girl was killed by her school bus. After getting off at school she was crossing the road from the back the bus, when the driver started reversing and the girl came under the rear tire. This was not it. The driver changed gears, started moving forward, and once again the same tire rolled over the same body. All this happened in front of the girls’ older sister (probably a 9^th grader).

Next day, the two major newspapers – Hindustan Time and Times of India – printed the picture of the mother and another, distant, female family member of the family on the front cover. The mother had tears on her cheeks, her eyes were still wet. I guess she had stopped crying, but she felt helpless.

All this was in the news for a couple of days, we also talked about it at school. While at home, I’d often think about it and look out my bedroom window towards the balcony of a house that, in a huge tragedy, lost one of its children.

I didn’t know they lived there until this happened. Now, whenever I went bicycling and crossed the road in front of their house, I’d always look up at their third floor apartment. It seemed very seemed very quite up there. After a few weeks, the older sister started bringing her younger brother (4^th grader, I believe) downstairs to play. Whenever I saw them, I would think… “They used to be three. There used to be someone amongst them who was close to both of their ages at the same time. Old enough to talk and listen to her 15yr old sister and young enough to play with her 10yr old brother. That one 12 to 13yr old was the bridge between the other two siblings.

The little boy used to play around with his cricket bat and actually enjoyed the company of his friends. His sister, however, didn’t do much except just standing, watching her brother play. She probably used to share a room with her sister. The same sort of a room I shared with my brother – 2 single beds, 1 or 2 study desks, 2 cupboards holding clothes and other possessions. At night they may used to talk about things, share the day’s stories, ask for homework help… you know, sibling stuff. But now, one of the bed’s was empty, possessions untouched, and nights all quite.

It was like any other morning, but that one morning changed the lives of these people forever. I can’t imagine how they must have felt. I mean, a member of their family just gone like that. They never heard her voice again, or saw her laugh, or cry. They never got a chance to see her grow up, to throw her parties, to scold her. Just a couple of minutes of one regular (or at least so it seemed) morning took away so much from them.

Just got to thinking about all this after a really, really long time.

What lies behing my eyes?

Found the link to Quizilla at Prasoon Gupta's blog. He wrote that whatever the quiz said about him was very true, same was the case here. I would say, all of it is true!

Kiss na!

Nana-Nani had a Satyanarayan Katha at their house today. For which MausaJi and Anuj bhai came down here yesterday. The pooja was supposed to start at 10am, but we are total Indians. Nana is very punctual, but it doesn't help much if all the others are slackers. We got their after 11:30 and that's when everything got started. MausaJi was expecting it to finish within an hour, but we kids know our Nana. It took almost three hours, as I suspected. MausaJi and Anuj bhai left for Charlotte around 6pm.

After coming back home I started watching Kisna, a movie I had been wanting to see for a long time. Had read some reviews about it and expected it to be a pretty good movie. I got impressed a number of times, loved Isha Sharvani (she is so damn flexible). Got a little bio online...

Isha is 20 years old who lives at an ashram in Kerala, India. She is trained in gymnastics, martial arts, yoga, ballet, kathak, aerial dance etc. She started dancing at the age of seven and has already performed in 22 countries in the last seven years. Her mother is of Indian-origin, Daksha Seth, dancer by profession. Her dad is Australian, Vissaro, a composer by profession. She has been named by her mom (first name) and aunt (last name). "Isha" means goddess, and "sharwani" means Parvati = Goddess Parvati. She originally intended to a vet by profession, but couldn't bear the thought of injecting and hurting animals. She received an email from Subhash Ghai's office, who were looking for an actress with some knowledge of dancing, to act in Bollywood movies. She and her mom went to Bombay to visit Subhash Ghai, and an year later she was signed as the female lead in "Kisna" opposite Vivek Oberoi. There are already two other "Ishas", named Isha Koppikar, and Esha Deol in Bollywood.

She didn't have much of an acting role, but whatever small scenes were shown of her were simply fabulous! Vivek Oberoi was looking alright, sometimes I like him, sometimes I don't. Antonia Bernath, Oberoi's love interest, sometimes looked good. The movie was boring at times, but overall I liked it (sigh)! Some scenes were copied off other movies, but the overall story is really good.

It made me wonder, can two people who are madly, deeply in love with each other, afford parting because that's what they HAVE to do, live a normal life, get married, have kids, and yet only belong to that one person they fell in love with. I don't know, I don't think I'll be able to do that. Somehow, I'll always feel that I'm betraying no one else, but myself. Maybe I'll change my mind after I grow up a little more.

Anyways, watch the movie if you get a chance. Watch with someone you never want to let go of, so that when tears roll down your cheeks, somebody's there to hug you and to say, "Kiss kya? " :)

Surprised? Yeah, I was too, and so was everybody else in my Stats class. It turns out we have students by the names of Michael Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and James Bond enrolled at our school. So, Eagle’s Landing High is not very far away from stardom, or at least the school is “educating” famous names of the entertainment industry. -- Whatever! -- But, it’s just wrong to name your child James Bond (or Michael Jackson for that matter) because he/she is definitely going to be made fun of. Such parents should be imprisoned!

Lunch, makes me fill my tummy, oh lunch!
Recently, I have joined a different group at lunch. I had been sitting with Nirali and Janki ever since this school year started. In the beginning I used to feel bad (but not say much) when they talked in Gujrati (not in Hindi or English), knowing that I do not understand the language. Over the weeks, I started mentioning this, and it got better. We started enjoying each others company, and even shared food without any hesitations. But for the past some weeks, they have again started showing their disrespectful behavior. After a while, I just decided to move on, and not care about being “nice” and sitting with other Desi FOBs. I moved to the table where Pavan, Miles, James, and sometimes Iara sits. Sitting with these folks is much more intellectual and rewarding than those two because all Nirali and Janki ever talk about is Hindi soap operas (btw, I do not even get those shows!! So, this an example how immature they are).

What’s even worse is that they have not even asked why I moved. Clearly, they don’t care. So, I’m finally being selfish, and doing what I think is right for me :)

Spring is coming!
The naked tree branches that I had been observing and admiring for the past couple of weeks (maybe months), now have thousand and thousands of flowers. A week ago they didn’t have a single sprout and now all the branches are covered! It’s not the case with all the trees, but these particular ones that are planted on the dividers inside our apartment complex. I was amazed to notice such a huge difference in just 7 days.

Do UFOs exist?
This is what I’m writing my research paper on for English. The paper is due after the spring break (and I have my school going on for now, just making clear to those who somehow got the idea that I’m on a break right now). I got started on the research and discovered this site that has personal stories about encounters with aliens and UFOs. Don’t know how true or false these stories are, but they sure are interesting. Back from NC

Of course I couldn't win the battle with my parents and ended up going to NC, but it was not as bad as I expected. I actually enjoyed this time.

We left at 6pm on Friday evening, picked up laddoos and crossed Atlanta by 7pm. Reached their house around 10pm. Mausa ji and Anuj bhai were up, waiting for us. After eating some pulaw, and kadhi chawal, Hansag, Anuj bhai, and I went upstairs, playes cards, listened to music, and chatted for a while. Hansag fell asleep around 1:30, but Anuj bhai and I were talking until 3:30. Then finally we decided to go sleep. Soon, after lying down, I could hear bhai's slight snores. I was sleepy when Anuj bhai was telling me about XML, but when the entire house was sound asleep, and there was nothing to do, I lay there wide awake.

Got up at 9 in the morning. MausaJi and papa left for the Mandir around 9:30, whereas all five of us - Ritu Masi, Mom, Hansag, Anuj bhai, and I - took showers, ate breakfast, without any hurry, and reached the mandir around 11:30 or 12. Hawan was almost over, but they were singing some bhakti songs. We sat there all that while, and after the aarti and meeting people from here and there had lunch. After everything got done, the packing started.

Back home, after making tea for all the adults, us three kids left for the 4 o'clock show of Robots. It was an okay movie, if you are planning on watching it, I think it would be smart to wait for the DVD. Got back home around 6-6:15, discovered that leaving for Atlanta was on today's to-do list (finally!). Anuj bhai and I had dinner, whereas Hansag just kept on sitting in the living room, watching TV, because he wanted pizza (hehe!). Pet pooja done, so I slipped into some comfy clothes, took a few pics, and sat on the couch watching the two playing cards. Dad came, and we left the place around 7:45.

Slept most of the way back. Got here at midnight.

Happy Birthday JANE !!

Today is Jane Lee's 18th Birthday. She majored in Executive Management at GHP and a minored in Dance. Her and I volunteered to write "Thank You" notes to all those who came in our class as guest speakers. Jerrett sat to the left of me, and Jane was right next to him. Maria and her became really good friends :)

These parents, I'm telling ya!

Man, don't these parents ever understand anything? Why are they always so eager to make decisions for us? Caring and responsible parents are a necessity to have because they really do make up our character by deciding early on which school to send us to and many other such important decisions. But, when kids think that they are old enough to make decisions for themselves, then why not let them do so? Yes, there is a possibility that their kids are thinking wrongly about being able to decide things for themselves, maybe their brains are betraying them, after all teenagers are crazy and they ALWAYS make stupid choices. But for that matter, kids are kids, not at all mature enough to think straight. Unfortunately, us kids will never ever reach the age of possible maturity, because we always are lacking 20 some years of experience. Parents are the best, huh?!

The above paragraph is for every fight that one may have with his/her parent(s). What I'm here to write about today is, "Why do sometimes parents propose a question, give a choice, and decide that the option we chose is worth throwing out the window?" I mean, if you want to do what you want to do, then please don't even make us happy (and later pissed) by rejecting our decision.

Last week (more than once) mom asked both, Hansag and I, whether or not we want to go to NC on March 12, which is a Saturday. First of all, I don't like going to NC at all. Whenever we go there for a happy visit, all these BIG plans are made, but it's all talk, we don't ever do anything! Hansag usually gets excited whenever a plan for NC is made, only in the hope of meeting Neeraj and Anuj bhai, and probably having a better time than all the past visits. March 2005 visit is a completely different story though. I guess (rather know) that it would be nice for us to be there, but more importantly it would be an awkward situation. Not writing more about the issue. Just that, I would rather be here finishing up my work and studying for the f***ing AP/Honors classes I'm taking, rather than wasting the entire weekend in traveling and later being tired due to the 4-5 hour drive (both ways).

Recieved a mail from Divya Masi today. They have gotten transferred to my hometown - Delhi, Dilli dilwalo ki ;). Mishkin will be attending DPS and Venu called back from Nainital next year. After reading the abbreviation - DPS - my expression was... ":O wow!" and I started thinking how he could have gotten into that school. Well two option...
1. either Mishkin miya is very intelligent
2. or (something that is more likely to happen) baap bada na bhaiya, sabse bada rupaya!
It's good that he'll be attending DPS, but I was laughing at the same time. Couldn't stop myself from recalling that "porno" incident of that mahaan school.

Delhi is a great place, seriously. Miss every minute of that city. Yeah, I'm biased in calling Delhi a great city, because it is the city where I was born and raised. A city where I made my first and everlasting friendships. Where I learned everything! I knew where to go for what, which bazaar is famous for what item. India is my mother, but Delhi probably my Identity. People say that I'm not a pakki Delhite, have quite a bit of UP in me, but even then, Dilli is my dil!

And I can never forget my Xavier's, the school that made me grow, that has seen me grow. Didn't learn my alphabets at Xavier's, Playway gets away with that credit, but Xavier's taught me how to change those alphabets into words, sentences, paragraphs, essays, and then a reflection of myself. That school, those teachers, those buildings, that canteen, those tennins/basketball courts, swimming pools, playgrounds, those assemeblies, picnics, jokes, friends, classmates... haaye! - memories! melodies! fragrance!

I miss my duniya, I miss my world! I still love it, I still remember it. I miss my crazyness, I miss my perky behavior, I miss the energy I used have inside of me, I miss the motivation. I miss myself yaar, I just miss myself.

Well, it's all good though (I guess). I mean, I was so childish back then. Always jumping around, teasing people, making them cry (:D), and then making them smile again. But you know, I wasn't this Geetali, while there. I became Geetali "the thinker" Sharma after coming to this land of different races - USA.

Changes take place for good, right?

Yeah, it's true that I miss what once belonged to me, but I recall the memories, I sing the melodies, and I smell the fragrance every time I think of that beautiful world left behind.

Sleeping A LOT is also a sign of laziness. Not doing homework at home, either finishing up hurridly in different classes and not paying attention to what's going on there or copying it off somebody else's paper is a result of laziness. Just lying on the couch and watching TV, saying no when your brother asks you to go to the gym just because you are "tired" and avoiding as many household chores as possible are some other signs of laziness.

And here's something to increase your general knowledge - I've been doing all of the above for the past couple of days now.

Now some other happenings
My hatred for Schernekau is increasing day by day, but I'm trying to overcome it. God, give me strength!! Shirley admitted that I'm doing much better this semester compared to the last one. I've also been going to him for questions (that later turn out to be calculation mistakes).

Trigonometry is same as before, only "a bit" more screaming and pulling of hair involved. Nopes, not hard, just that Harrison is bombarding us with formulas, and formulas, and more formulas. Have a quiz tomorrow, but luckily not over all of the crap - whew! You know, Harrison has started looking at me as if I'm "actually" smart. I don't know it could be just me thinking that way, because Janki said something like, "Harrison likes smart people. I'm not doing too well there so she avoids me." And later that year she said, "I have an A average now, she likes me." I didn't really believe her back then, but you know it could be true. It's not that Harrison's attitude towards "unsmart" people is any different, but you can notice a slight difference in where her eyeballs land while analyzing something and/or talking about general stuff.

Physics is notes, notes, all the time. And programming the exact opposite. When Washington says, "Do this worksheet out of the book" it means, "Just take the stupid sheet, I have some emails to read you idiots. And yeah, don't bother digging the books to find the answers, there isn't anything in there anyways. I'll give the answers tomorrow. Now get busy talking!!"

Truth, and nothing but the truth

I haven't been updating my blog regularly. It could be interpreted (correctly) that I'm leaning more and more towards laziness.

It has been an okay break so far. Nothing much is going on except relaxation. I don't remember doing anything special since Friday till now, exept going to Nana-Nani's place and Global Mall on Saturday and seeing the circus and eating at Madras Sarvana Bhawan on Monday.

The food at MSB was ok, I didn't like it much. We ordered North Indian as usual, but it seems like they only make good South Indian food. I tried their sambhar vada as appetizer, which I liked. But other than that, nopes! It could be possible that my expectations have gone up, but I doubt that.

I also started on my Statistics hw. I will finish by tomorrow if not tonight. Am determined to study for Physics. Just wish me luck, that I do open the book and do some problems.

Watched a few movies - MunimJi, China Gate, Hera Pheri, and part of Xcuse me. Hera Pheri has been one of my favorites ever since I first watched it, so don't need to say whether I enjoyed it or not. MunimJi was ok, China Gate I liked, but Xcuse me was kachra. Hansag broght some more videos of Ghar-Jamai from his friends house. That show is our favorite these days :D

About Hansag, it's odd how we have been talking lately. I mean, actually talking and not fighting like fighting-fighting (if you know what I mean). One funny incident - I was working out some problems in the room, he came in, sat on his clothes on the chair, and offered me his Pepsi. I looked at him doubtfully, touched the glass to see if it was cold. He said, "There's no ice, you want a sip?" I sipped and he said, "That's one sip." I handed it back to him and his final response regarding the Pepsi was that "now you can't say you didn't even have a sip." :) He always finishes all the soda (no matter how much Papa brings) before anybody gets a chance to even see it properly. I was scolding him regarding this the other day.

I love that guy!

this week and the next

I know I haven't posted anything in a while. Missed V-day aswell, sorry bhai log! V-day was not special, it was just another day, just had a "V" in front of it. Wore white, red, and black to school. It's FBLA week at our school, here are the days and their "specialities"...

Monday: V-day (wear red and white)
Tueday: Professional attire day (i was going to wear my black suit, but didn't coz i'm lazy)
Wednesday: College day (i don't own any clothes that have college related stuff on them)
Thurdsay: Teacher appriciation day (nothing special, don't worry!)
Friday: FBLA day (wear gold and blue, they are FBLA colors)

Other than the above mentioned, this is our last week of school before the "mid-winter break". So, all the teachers have been bombarding us with quizzes and tests. I had a test in every single class, expect in Physics (postponed to the Friday after the break) and Programming (had one last week). English kachri gave us 2 tests. Nice na? --:O.. Yah! I know!! Anyways, I feel pretty good about all the tests this week. But lets see what the scores say.

Next week is off, but nothing is planned so far. On to-do list are the following things...

• fill out FAFSA
• fill out GaTech's FinAid
• read over Stats ch11 and workout problems
• read over Physics ch17, workout problems, and for once understand what i'm doing
• listen to music, dance (or jump up and down)
• go to sleep at NIGHT, and wake up in the MORNING
• take showers!!

i can predict the future :O ... hu hu ha ha ha ha ha!!

Case 1
I didn't do my Stats hw on Thursday, so copied it off someone's paper during Trig. At the time, we were going over something new in Trig. I looked at the teacher, then looked at the board, again looked at the teacher, and said to myself, "This new stuff is going to be on the quiz as a bonus question." But I kept on doing to Stats work because at the time that was more important. Anyways, my prediction came true, I did the problem from whatever I had heard the teacher saying, but didn't give all the answers. Made a high B on the quiz, which was good (as in higher) compared to what others made.

Case 2
Okay, this is not exactly "predicting" of anything, but whatever! I didn't go to school 3 days last week because I was extremely sick (uhu uhu), had to make up a couple of tests this week. Stats make-up was on Friday morning, I didn't study much on Thursday night, but had a monologue with Mr. God on Friday morning, it went something like this...

Aye God yaar, plzz lemme get a good grade on this test. I know I'm asking you to help me when I didn't really study, but man seriously I know the stuff. See, the formula for the interval is x-bar plus/minus z-score times sigma over square root of n. To find the p-value all you have to do is subtract the myu from x-bar and divide it by sigma over square root of n. The minimum population you need is not that hard either, it's z-score times sigma over square root of n less than-equal to m. See, I know everything! Just help my brain work, plz plz plz!!

I guess he got impressed and decided on not freaking me out. BUT we also had a stupid essay test on Frankenstein in English. This was over the presentations, which we were supposed to take notes on. Schernekau handed out papers with about six essay questions on them, but one was highleted that we were actually supposed to do. This was random though. You won't believe how lucky I am... I got the question that I knew little about because when we reached that presentation I decided to relax and take a trip to my dreamland. Anyways, I looked around, god jealous because others had questions that I knew everything about, looked at the ceiling, said, "Thanks!" and started writing. I did fine, it wasn't as bad as I thought :)

But remember, when I think that I did well on something, it turns out to be really crappy. Hmm... let's see what happens...
